It was a great pleasure to participate in Bio-IT World together with my colleagues including Brook Santangelo, Jennifer Schreiber, PhD, PMP, Bill Fitzgerald and the whole Business Development team. This conference brought together many leaders from computational biology, biotech, pharma, and AI community.
Bio-IT World is always a unique place where computational scientists, IT leaders, bioinformaticians, and AI researchers come together to discuss how data, infrastructure, and machine learning approaches transform biomedical research and drug development.
This year, I was especially inspired by the growing momentum around agentic AI, knowledge graphs, and automated hypothesis generation for biomarker discovery and translational research. At the same time, many thoughtful discussions focused on a very important question: where does AI truly create value, and where do we need to be more selective? Not every problem should be solved with an LLM, and scalable, trustworthy AI still requires strong data foundations, domain expertise, and careful evaluation at every step.
At SandboxAQ, we presented two posters:
Integrated AI and Physics-Based Methodologies for In-Silico Target Identification
Presented by me
A Multi-Omic Knowledge Graph for Parkinson’s Disease Discovery
Presented by Brook Santangelo
I am grateful for the many inspiring conversations, new connections, and high-quality discussions throughout the conference. I look forward to continuing these conversations and bringing some of the ideas from Bio-IT World into our daily work on AI-driven drug discovery at SandboxAQ.
Thank you to all participants, organizers, and colleagues who made this such a valuable event.
